1. d4 e6 2. c4 Sf6 3. Sc3 Lb4 4. e3 O-O 5. Ld3 c5 6. Sf3 d5 Turbo out of book, Variation known as the Rubinstein Variation in the Nimzo-Indian Defence 6... b6 7. d5! exd5 8. cxd5 Sxd5 9. Lxh7+ Kxh7 10. Dxd5 Lxc3+ 11. bxc3 7. cxd5 And here also the Explorer out of book 7... exd5 8. O-O b6 9. Ld2 Te8 9... c4 10. Le2 Sc6 11. b3 Lxc3 12. Lxc3 Se4 13. Dc2= 10. a3 10. dxc5 bxc5 11. a3 Lxc3 12. Lxc3 10... La5 11. Se5 White is occupying the better places... 11... Lb7 12. Lb5 12. b4 cxb4 13. Sa4 Dd6 To "prevent" axb4 14. axb4 Lxb4 15. Lxb4 Dxb4 16. Sc5! bxc5 17. Tb1 Dc3 18. Tb3 Da5 19. Txb7 12... Te6 13. Sb1 The Turbo sets in a special manoeuvre, at first it seems odd, but allbeit not to bad , black pieces are still a bit clumsy (Re6 en Ba5) 13... Lxd2 14. Sxd2 Sc6 15. Sdf3 Sxe5 16. Sxe5 Normally speakin g black has to be vigilant as not to remain stuck with the isolated d5 pawn, and should use the pawns on the queenside in his favor. The position is quite balanced though. 16... Tc8 17. Tc1 cxd4 18. Txc8 Lxc8 19. exd4 19. Dxd4 In this option, white will play on the isolated pawn theme 19... a6 20. Ld3 Lb7 21. De2 Qf3 was better 21... b5 22. Lf5 22. f3 Preventing Ne4 22... Te7 23. Te1 Se4= There he goes ! 24. Dd3 Db6 25. Lxe4 This will make the 24 Qd3 a bit silly, but I don't think computers will ever look back in the 'Past' as the only thing they care about is the futur . 25... dxe4 26. De3 f5 Not a bad s trategical prospect, to me thats the difference the Explorer sometimes tends to make... 27. Sd3 Fancy move but no efficiency involved 27. Tc1 Df6 28. Db3+ Kf8 29. Tc5 And white is a bit better, as the pieces exert more control over the enemy 27... Df6 28. Sc5? A stretegical bad move from the Turbo, as the central occupation on e5 was much more restrictive for white. 28... Ld5 A Positional move, can eventually get on the outside of his own pawns via c4 29. f4?! My chessengine played the same move, incredible don't you think ? Now the well protected e-pawn is a free pawn ! This is not the first time I see the Turbo play such a move. To me this is where humans and computers depart. 29... h6 30. h3 g5 This move was not applauded more then any other move by my chessengine, but to me the fact that the Explorer plays it, and even the preparation on h6, proves he tries to keep the game going and grasps for the initiative ! Many computers would play dull moves in such cases. 31. g3 31. Tf1 Tg7 32. fxg5 hxg5 And black surely has the initiative 31... gxf4 32. gxf4 32. Dxf4? Dxd4+ 33. De3 Dxe3+ 34. Txe3 32... Tg7+ 33. Kh2 Kf7 34. Tg1 Txg1 35. Kxg1 Kg6 36. Kf2 La8? 37. Sd7 Dd6 38. Sc5 Kf6 39. Ke2 Ke7 40. b3 Db6 41. Dg3 What takes them so long ? 41... Kf7 42. Dh4 Dg6 43. Dd8 Dg2+ The best defense could be the attack 44. Ke1 Dh1+ 45. Kd2 Dh2+ 46. Ke1 Dg1+ 47. Ke2 Dh2+ 48. Ke1 Dg3+ 49. Ke2 Df3+ 50. Ke1 De3+ 50... e3 I would have played this move, in the hope the King can escape from its checks via h5 & h4, whereas black has the threat Qf2+ Qd2+ mate, but seemingly is the Qe8+ sufficient to keep the King inside and though both refuse to go for the draw, this is what it will become... 51. Dd7+ Kf6 (51... Kg6 52. De8+ Kg7 53. Se6+ Kf6 54. Df8+ Kxe6 55. De8+ Kf6 56. Df8+ Kg6 57. De8+ Draw !) 51. Kd1 a5 52. Dd7+ 52. Dxa8?? Dxd4+ 53. Ke2 Dxc5 52... Kf6 53. De6+ 53. Dxb5 Dxd4+ 54. Ke2 Ld5 55. Dxa5 Maybe this is the way out (if ever Kg6 Qe8+ Bf7) 55... Kg6 56. Db4 (56. Db6+? Kh5) 56... Dg1 57. a4 Unclear Situation 53... Kg7 54. De7+ 54. Dxf5 Also here the King can't escape the Perpetual Checks 54... Kg8 55. De6+ Kg7 56. De7+ Kg8 57. De6+ Kg7 1/2-1/2 [Stefan Timmermans]
